Choosing Physician Assisant Journals

How should I pick a journal?

If you are an author searching for an appropriate journal, we recommend using a tool like JANE to see what journals publish articles like yours.

Predatory publishing

When examining journals, be aware of red flags, including but not limited to:

  • Proudly announcing that the journal is indexed in Google Scholar
  • Poor spelling & grammar
  • Aggressive solicitation
  • Broad journal topics
  • Quick acceptance times
  • Article is in PubMed, but displays "not currently indexed in Medline, deposited in PMC"

Impact factors

If you care curious about the most up to date journal impact factors, we recommend searching by specialty or subspecialty on Clarivate's Journal Citation Reports. Learn more about impact factor and other common types of bibliometrics on our Bibliometrics page.
