Class Description and Learning Objectives

Class Description:

Quickly find answers to patient care-related questions using clinical point-of-care resources, such as Clinical Key, Dynamed, Isabel, UptoDate, Micromedex, or Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database. Find resources that provide information for clinical decision-making, such as clinical practice guidelines, differential diagnosis, and drug reference. This is an interactive class, where a case study is presented and attendees are asked to answer questions using specific resources. Be prepared to toggle between Zoom and an internet browser throughout the class.
This class is intended for students, residents, faculty, or staff with patient care responsibilities or an interest in patient care.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the session, class participants will be able to:

  1. Identify clinical point-of-care resources available through the Strauss Health Sciences Library.
  2. Recognize which resource is best suited to use depending on the type of clinical information needed.
  3. Use the appropriate resource to locate the answer to a clinical question in a timely manner.
