Cochrane’s work is internationally recognized as the benchmark for high-quality information about the effectiveness of health care. The mission of the Colorado Cochrane Affiliate is to promote evidence-informed health decision-making by producing and advocating for the use of high-quality, relevant, accessible systematic reviews and other synthesized research evidence in the Rocky Mountain region of the US.
The Rocky Mountain U.S. Colorado Affiliate is directed by Robert Dellavalle MD, PhD, and Patricia Heyn, PhD, and contains ~25 members including two Joint Coordinating Editors of Cochrane Review Groups (Robert Dellavalle, MD, PhD, Cochrane Skin Joint Coordinating Editor and Tianjing Li, PhD, Cochrane Eyes and Vision Joint Coordinating Editor). Hosted events of the Colorado Cochrane Affiliate include a monthly seminar series on evidence-based practice with the University of Colorado Strauss Health Sciences Library.
Robert P. Dellavalle MD, PhD, MSPH, is the Director of the US Cochrane Universtiy of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Affilate. He is a Professor of Dermatology and Public Health at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Colorado School of Public Health. He also serves as the Chief of the Dermatology Service at the US Department of Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System and as a Joint Co-ordinating Editor of Cochrane Skin.
Dr. Patricia C. Heyn, PhD, FGSA, FACRM has been involved in health disparity, rehabilitation and gerontological sciences research for over 20 years. She is a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM). She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Deputy Director of the US Cochrane Colorado Affiliate Center.
Dr. Tianjing Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at University of Colorado Denver with a secondary appointment in the Department of Epidemiology at University of Colorado School of Public Health. Dr. Li has an international reputation in leading methodological research in systematic review, network meta-analysis, clinical trials, comparative effectiveness research, and patient-centered outcomes research. She serves as Associate Scientific Editor for the 2nd edition of the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. Dr. Li holds several leadership roles within Cochrane, including serving as the Associate Director for Cochrane United States from 2012 to 2018, a Coordinating Editor for Cochrane Eyes and Vision, a co-convener for the Cochrane Comparing Multiple Interventions Methods Group (aka network meta-analysis methods group), and a member of the Cochrane Methods Executive Committee.
