What does NCBI do?

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) develops and maintains molecular and bibliographic databases as a part of the National Library of Medicine (NLM). They do not generate their own data, but they do:

  • Receive data submissions from researchers
  • Develop software for searching, and analysis of these data
  • Provide a web access point for the data and software

myNCBI

myNCBI lets users save searches, filters, and view preferences for all of the NCBI databases, including PubMed.
